About Us

At Due West Design, we are all about making our clients look good. We want your audience’s first impression to be a great one, and we achieve that through a collaborative process based on nearly two decades of experience helping small businesses and nonprofits thrive. We love working with excited, engaged small business owners and nonprofits who trust our expertise and are interested in working as a team to get the best results possible.

Due West Design is based in Colorado Springs, CO, but we work with clients all over the U.S. We believe in building long-term partnerships and supporting you throughout your journey. We want you to feel empowered with your new brand and web site so that you can connect with your target audience and share your ideas and offerings with confidence.

Company Values

We believe in treating people fairly and kindly. Due West Design does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy, disability, religion, ethnicity, military status, age, or any other characteristic protected by law. We are committed to promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice in our work and beyond. At Due West Design, we strive to make our site easy for everyone to use, and you can view our Accessibility Statement here.

We also love doggos (and all the other critters too), and donate a percentage of our sales each year to Tuba City Humane Society on the Navajo Reservation in Tuba City, Arizona. They are a completely volunteer-run nonprofit doing phenomenal work in a very high need area—please support or learn more about them at www.tubacityhumanesociety.org.

Meet the Team

Meg McConnell, Owner + Lead Designer

Meg (she/her/hers) is an experienced graphic and web designer who’s spent two decades serving small business, corporate, and nonprofit clients. After freelancing for most of her career, she went full-time as a design consultant when she and her husband John moved to Colorado Springs in 2016. Ready to make a bigger impact and expand her client base, Meg launched Due West Design as a boutique branding and web design studio in fall 2020.

She holds a master’s degree in Communication from the College of Charleston and has been selected multiple times as a winner in the American Web Design Awards and Inhouse Design Awards by Graphic Design USA Magazine and The Creative Group. She holds a Charleston Digital Corridor CODEcamp certification for WordPress and became a Squarespace Circle member in 2018. She is a member of the local AIGA chapter and also facilitates a monthly designer meet-up in the Being Boss Community.

Meg holds a Colorado state record for power lifting and loves to hike and explore the mountains and Southwest region as much as possible in her time off.

Isabel Hawley, Design Assistant

Isabel (she/her/hers) is from Jonesborough, Tennessee's oldest town. She has freelanced for several years, designing social media graphics, digital menus, and marketing materials for local small businesses in Northeast Tennessee. She holds a bachelor's degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice with a minor in Spanish from the University of Tennessee. She loves creating hand-drawn graphics on her iPad with the Procreate app and learning everything she can about branding and web site design. Her projects at Due West range from designing custom icons and social media illustrations to helping with brand assets, web site build outs, and SEO.

If she's not at work, she can be found by the pool or at a local spin class sweating it out. She also loves to travel and hopes to visit as many countries as she can. She, of course, loves playing with her sweet dog and two crazy cats.

Jenn Martin, Developer

Jenn (she/her/hers) is a full-time senior full stack developer with a master’s degree in Software Engineering, based in Charleston, SC. When she’s not building database driven web sites, managing projects, or creating amazing user experiences in her full-time role, she is learning the ins and outs of Squarespace, WordPress, and other content management platforms. She is our CSS wizard who helps make your new site beautiful and completely custom.

When Jenn’s not busy working, she can be found at the beach, woodworking, raising chickens and a veggie garden, or traveling the country in an RV with her wife Kat and two amazing pups.

John McConnell, Developer

John (he/him/his) has spent his 20 year career developing web sites as a full-stack software engineer. He has a keen eye for user design as well as knowing the ins and outs of the databases and code that drive both simple sites and complex web applications with thousands of users. At Due West Design he offers project support and is often the one troubleshooting technical issues, mobile responsiveness, and custom CSS. John holds a master’s degree in Computer Science and is currently pursuing the Azure Associate Developer certification.

When he gets away from the keyboard, he enjoys weight lifting, mountain biking, hiking, and video games. Originally from a small town near Valdosta, GA, John has been settled in Colorado Springs for over six years and is still enjoying finding new spots to explore along the Front Range.
